The most popular question asked when starting a project is, where do I start? Too often, people come walk into a showroom seeming overwhelmed or confused at the idea of taking on a project. The first place you should always start is with a professional. A professional designer will be able to guide you through the process and help you determine what your needs, wants, and goals are.
Determining a budget can be difficult. This Is something you probably haven’t done before, you maybe only remodel a kitchen once or twice in your lifetime. There are many factors that go into determining a budget that it is really important to have this conversation with your designer. What are your priorities? What are your goals? If you haven’t been able to determine a number you are comfortable spending; let your designer guide you through what he or she thinks it may cost, if that’s in a range that’s comfortable for you, and whether or not you need to make adjustments to that based upon your wish list.

Your designer should be able to help guide you through that, by asking a you series of question about what your want or needs are and help you prioritize that. By giving your designer a budget, you’re helping them work more efficiently towards your goal. A good designer will be able to help you maximize your budget, showing you where you should spend your money for the most impact. For example when planning a kitchen, maybe your priority is a higher-end quartz countertop, maybe that doesn’t quite fit into the budget the way you had everything planned.
